Welcome to Our Family Adventures
Hi and welcome to Three Tulips and a Texan! My name is Mary and I am the ringmaster of Three Tulips and a Texan. We are a family of 5, myself, my husband Jake (the Texan), and our 3 children (our tulips or loves). We also have two sweet dogs. My husband and I met on match.com in 2009 and it’s been a fun and wild ride since then.
When Jake and I met, he was in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Carson. I was a special education teacher at an elementary school on base. After dating for over a year and his return from deployment, Jake and I got married and we welcomed our first daughter, Carsyn, into this world.
While I was pregnant with our second daughter we PCS’d to Germany where Mackenzy arrived just over a month after our arrival. While in Germany I also worked as a special education teacher at an elementary school on post.
Eventually my husband retired from the military and we PCS’d to Japan, where I am currently an assistant principal at the elementary schools on base. We recently welcomed our son, Flynn, into our family.
Since my husband and I have met we’ve lived in one state in the USA, 2 German towns, and 2 Japanese bases/cities. We are currently on our 6th year living overseas. While living and working overseas, we’ve been able to explore our host cities and countries. We’ve also explored many other places during our time OCONUS. We each have a different number of countries, continents, states, and territories we’ve visited. But for the most part we’ve visited over 20 countries (with the exception of our newest addition).
